Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician

Job Summary: Set up, troubleshoot, install and repair equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment plant wide utilizing procedures and schedules. Examines machines for defects in operation, replaces defective components, makes necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation and moves heavy machine parts with the aid of hoists, pallet jacks, forklifts or rollers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides emergency/unscheduled and scheduled repairs of production equipment throughout the day
• Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs
• Performs technical repairs including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment throughout the facility
• Completes preventative maintenance service in all areas of the plant
• Disassembles equipment and determines repairs required to make equipment operable
• Rebuilds complicated machine tools and special purpose machines and plant equipment
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Operates forklifts, scissor lifts and battery operated pallet jacks
• Performs facility maintenance on building, roof, plumbing and electrical
• Performs other duties within the department as may be assigned

• Capable of working long hours and flexible schedule

Education/Experience: High School Diploma preferred. Approximately 3 + years of related experience. Electrical A/C and D/C experience is preferred.

Certificates and Licenses: Maintenance-related certifications desirable (e.g. welding, fabrication, electrical, refrigeration, hazardous materials).

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Certain areas of the facility will be wet and have stairs. The temperature of the work environment is cold (about 45 degrees Fahrenheit). Ability to work around meat products with mold.
